The gender verdict is in...

All the cool gender reveals on pinterest made me want to try one of my own.  I bought 3 pink balloons and 3 blue balloons with the kids yesterday.  I told them I would put the pink balloons in the box for a girl and the blue balloons for a boy.  We did it right when we picked them up at my sister Kori's house after the ultrasound.  I think Kori was more excited than my kids- she was peeking through the crack in the lid if you can't tell from her face!

Wait for it...

It's a boy!!
Charlotte was pretty excited too- she went back and forth between guessing boy and girl but I knew she would be happy either way.
The twins seemed to pick up on it pretty fast- Abby did want to know what happened to the pink balloons.

I'll admit I put the blue balloons in the box before we even went to the ultrasound since that was my guess, and almost everyone else too. Even Abby kept saying- "It's a boy.  Olly needs a boy."  I did bring the pink balloons too- but I figured if I was going to put one set in the box it might as well be my guess!

Profile shot

We got this between the legs view as soon as she started the ultrasound.  It would be pretty hard to not know what you're looking at!

My friend Sunny did the ultrasound and it was by far the best experience with an ultrasound I've had and not just because I know her.   I've had a ton of different ultrasound techs/labs with the twins and Charlotte measuring so small, this was so much nicer. If you'd rather have a more personal feel to your ultrasound I highly recommend her- she also does 3D ultrasounds and early ultrasounds to tell gender if you can't wait anymore!  Here's a link to her business Precious Predictions if you live in the Mesa area.

3D picture of his face.

He was measuring exactly 18 weeks like he should- maybe he'll keep it up and I'll actually get bigger than a 5lb 6oz baby this time around! It is so nice to use "he" instead of "it"!

He was sick and didn't want to eat his dinner a few weeks ago- so he fell asleep on the chair instead.

It is nice for Olly to get a brother!  We were both hoping boy- even if we would always love another girl too.  We got to have a single girl, the boy/girl twins in the middle, now we'll get to try a single boy.  I have loved seeing the differences between raising boys and girls.  Oliver is so good at playing independently, so easy to get over upsets, loves to be rough.    He's a hard act to follow- he's definitely all boy but he is so sweet and snuggly- but he also rarely hits or throws things like most little boys. Matt tells me that might change when he gets a brother who wants to take his precious cars.  Both sides of the family were needing more grandsons so that worked out too. We are super excited to have another little boy!  Let the great name debate begin!

So were you right or wrong?  Any name suggestions?
