A Day During the "Stay Home" Order Day 42

I wanted to do document a day during this "stay at home" order on a Tuesday or Thursday since those are my walk/run days so I thought it would be more interesting than regular days.  Then it ended up being one of my best days since we started in March.  Here is day 42 Thursday, April 23, 2020

 5:30 Wake up
6:00 Pick up Marti/Drive to Signal Butte and Brown to look at a friends new build like creepers through all the windows
7:00-7:30 take a small nature walk on a nearby trail, already getting hot
On non-running days I snuggle the kids from 7-7:30, I've always thought 7am was the perfect time to wake up.

8:00 Breakfast muffins and sausage and scriptures (not pictured)
9:00-10:00 Academic Time miles has his WebEx meeting he complains about then ends up loving the other 3 take turns on the computer, tv, and Matt's work laptop, most of their stuff is on google classroom, they usually need a little help but not tons
Today I got to be Charlotte's science partner, she's studying mixtures, she made this fun green goop, then sold it to Olly for $5 because he really really wanted it.

10:00-11:00 Creative Time- They have to do their music practice and they can do creative things.  Today they chose to make stress balls- baking soda in balloons- the boys painted Deadpool and Ninja Turtle pictures on them.

10:30 Shower! This doesn't happen every day but I try to make sure it happens on the days I run at least!

11:00-12:00 Chore time- each kid studies their zone and room with help with me if they need it!

Abby doing an awesome job cleaning the kitchen.  This kid has always been awesome at doing her chores!

Boys avoiding chores by be-boppin'
12:00 Lunch- M-W-F we pick up school lunches today each kid chose their own lunch.

12:30-2 Quiet time- in their rooms they usually read a book, sometimes they even fall asleep, sometimes I do too!  I usually read, sometimes I actually get to use my own computer. My favorite time of the day.
2:00-3:30 Education screen time- usually more homework for the older 3, Miles usually has 2 worksheets left then he plays prodigy or something educational.
3:30-4:30 Outside time- they usually ride their bikes around the block or hang out at the green field, starting to get hot so sprinklers, water balloon fights.
4:30-Dinner Free screen time- Charlotte watched all the Camp Kikiwaki, and Alexa and Katie, Olly still loves Fortnite (not my favorite but he loves doing it with Matt), Miles will play Minecraft, Abby likes a pixel game on the phone

After Dinner Family time, Marti took them to get cookies and Matt went running early so I get 30 minutes home alone- for the first time since "spring break" started.  Feels like toddler days again!  Mondays we do FHE, Wednesdays we all watch Survivor, Friday and Saturday movie night, Sunday usually a board game.  Sometimes we do a bike ride, walk or jump on the trampoline...
Marti took them to get cookies!  Super Auntie!!
8:00-9:00 Bedtime/Read a Book- so far we finished Harry Potter #4, started the #5 with the boys, and Little Women with the girls
9:00-10:00 Book club meeting on zoom we read "Out of My Mind" (seemed a little too on the nose).  Interesting perspective on disabilities, I recommend it!
10-11 I usually waste too much time on my phone, read, write in my 5-year- journal or watch a show with Matt then finally go to sleep

Hope you enjoyed a bit of our quarantine routine.  It helps so much to break up the day and for the kids and me to know what's coming.  An hour for most activities is usually as much as we can handle before they get frustrated or bored.
