Miles Turns 10!

Miles is a decade old!  Having a birthday the day before school starts almost every year is a little tricky, but we try to make it fun!

After back to school night at Mesa Academy, we went to Chic-fil-et and then Uptown Jungle with his friend Saavin for his birthday outing.  On the off years, we do a family outing with one friend instead of a party.

We wrote things we love about Miles on his presents!

Olly mega wrapped this present and put a toy hamster inside!

We got up at 5:30 am so Matt could be there to open presents before work.   Working on east coast time is the worst in the summer.  Miles loved getting to open his presents so early!

The kids tried Crackers & Co. for the first time. The younger 3 ordered crepes, and Charlotte and I got egg sandwiches.

Cute brothers!

Loving or hurting?  Hard to tell sometimes!

Some of Miles' surprises were cowboy boots and a hat!  He loves to dress up and always has!

Reading his new Investigator book and getting his free swig!

Strawberry angel food cake for his birthday.  We combined his birthday dinner with our back-to-school feast.  He chose steak, mashed potatoes, and corn on the cob.  He was a little too full of candy he got from his siblings so he didn't enjoy it as much as usual.

We sure love this kid!  He's gotten taller and more mature this year.  He did great in his first year at Mesa Academy.  He loves to sing random things all the time and tells us random facts.  He loves to read and play video games.  He has the cutest laugh, loves to read Meme Monday with me, and laughs our heads off.  He did great on swim team this year even though he didn't love it. He's getting more responsible at chores and getting his stuff done.   It's hard to be the only younger one but he also is so adored and looked after by his three older siblings and get more one-on-one time with mom and dad when the other 3 are off to things.  He's got such a smart brain and a good heart.  We are so grateful for this Miles kid in our family and can't wait to see him grow up!
