-When I was in Kindergarten Kori was the coolest. We shared a room because we were clean and early birds together. She would get me up in the morning help me pick out matching clothes and do my hair for me. She would even let me sit with her and her friends in the back of the bus. I remember her painting my nails and showing me the best way to line up my dolls. She called me Erin Laverne.
This picture is so Kori! I love the bracelets and the painted fingernails. She probably has stickers on her ears too because she wanted earrings so badly.
-When she was in high school she would drive me to my friend's house and give me advice. I went with her to pick out her prom dress. I remember meeting the guys she dated because she would let me tag along. When she went to college I missed having an older sister at home. She came home a few summers then got busy being a grown up with school, jobs, a mission. She was the "rich" sister who would give awesome birthday presents. She sent me flowers at school for my 17th birthday.
Today I'm still tagging along. When Matt and I were dating she let me stay at her house for almost a month so I could see him. She even took us out a couple of times. I know it wasn't fun seeing her little sister get married first, but in a lot of ways she made it so much easier for us to date. Then when we bought a house she let me tag along again and buy one in the same neighborhood and ward. Hopefully she isn't tired of her tag-along little sister because it's so nice to have family close.
Kori is so awesome about helping me even today...
-She is always willing to babysit for me
-She gets out of the shower and drives me to work even though she's 9 months pregnant because I locked my keys in the house.
-She's always willing to loan me anything she's got ( I currently have 2 books and a baby toy and who knows what else)
-She broke into my house when I had Charlotte and put dinner in our fridge.
-She's always willing to go on an outing and talk with me and still gives me advice
My sisters and mom at the shower that Kori threw for me
Kori probably won't like this picture but it's so sweet and she could always rock a side ponytail like nobodies business!
Kori is a great mom. She is so patient taking care of Spencer all day long. Thanks for being such an awesome big sister Kori I don't know what I'd do without you!
Happy 30th Birthday!!!

I'm so glad to be first. You girls know I'm a cry baby so why do you do this to me? Wonderful thoughts Erin. How could I be so blessed to have four wonderful daughters. As always I must say I'm glad each of you and your brothers came to our family. It wouldn't be a birthday if I didn't say that Right? Love, Mom
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet post and sweet pictures. That's so wonderful that you have such good memories of growing up together and that you still get along so well. You're lucky! I hope my kids are that close when they grow up.
ReplyDeleteLove all those pics! What fun memories for the two of you. And, now to live in the same neighborhood? SO FUN!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet, fun trubute to your big sis! It is so nice that you get to be close to each other.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tribute Erin. You make me sound like a saint or something. Check out arizonagammons.blogspot.com to see the REAL Kori. One disclaimer on the side ponytail. It wasn't on purpose. I'd just gone through 16 hours of induced labor including and hour of pushing, messy hair is allowed I'd say.
