The Puppy and the Grandparent Sleepover

Charlotte had a grand time with Grandma and Grandad Diehl. She played with cousins all evening on Friday, went to bed great, slept all night, took a good nap, ate well... basically we should have done this sooner! She did ask for us a few times and she did seem happy to see us when we got back; but unless my mom is lying to me she did great. I'm sure they spent a ton of time outside because that's all Charlotte wants to do at their house; and with a yard like theirs and so many farm animals to visit what kid wouldn't want to be outside?

Matt and I got back Saturday afternoon and stayed with my parents until Sunday evening.
On Sunday afternoon someone brought their puppy over for a little while and we got these pictures...

I'm pretty sure the dog thought she was a puppy. He jumped on her and started to wrestle and nip at her. She didn't seem to mind too much- I think she liked rolling around with the dog!

In case you can't tell this is the face of pure excitement!

She loved to grab his tail. I tried to teach her this wasn't nice, or sanitary but she was so fascinated by it!

And we have to kiss the puppy of course.

There's a reason they use children and puppies in advertising. They are so cute together. If I wasn't going to be changing 25+ diapers a day in the near future this would seriously make me want to get a dog. I'll be dealing with enough human messes without adding a dog to the mix, but man are they cute!

  1. Love that picture of Charlotte + Puppy when she's so excited, great expression. Whose puppy? Probably no one I know.

  2. I agree with your decision to wait to get a dog... having a dog with a baby or babies, is just too much work!

  3. It's Ben Sandall's puppy- I just didn't want to explain who he was. He came over to get some dog training tips from dad I think- or maybe just look at antlers because that's what they did!
