I'd forgotten how much work it was to feed babies. Of course I feed 2 at a time. It is so messy! They seem to really like it though! Oliver was found taking off one of Abby's socks and putting it in his messy carrot mouth. He's already playing tricks on his sister!

Hello handsome!
Oliver

Height 26.75 inches 60%
Weight 15 lbs 10%
Head 16.75 inches 40%
The doctor discovered they accidentally had Oliver entered in as a girl so his percentages were off at first. I don't know if that means they've always been off or just this time. He is looking so long and skinny! He often wiggles right out of his pants- unless I put the cloth diapers on him!

Here's Oliver's diet plan:
1. Only nurse for 10-15 min before I decide I'm done or distracted
2. Spend every minute I'm awake rolling over and getting into push-up position. (Seriously every single minute he's on the floor he is doing push-ups. We'd all look skinny if we moved as much as this kid.)
3. Sleep from 9pm to 7am every day
He is so much happier now that he's starting to move and he rolls right to his tummy and sucks his thumb all night. He smiles and laughs so easily- I LOVE it. He can lift himself up into "downward dog" position so well but he has occasionally face planted on the tile because he lacks coordination to go with all the strength. Not officially crawling yet- but it doesn't stop him for getting across the living room when I'm not looking. He can also sit himself back on his bum from crawling position and starts to move his legs like he's walking. He's trying to learn to do everything at once. I'm scared that it won't take him too much longer to have it all figured out.
Abigail
Height: 25.5 inches 45%
Weight: 14lbs 8oz 20%
Head: 16.5 inches 35%
She's only 1/2 a pound less than Oliver! She's really catching up. She looks like a little round butterball- it's hard to believe she's only 20%. She decided she didn't want to be totally left behind so she's starting rolling onto her belly every time she's on the floor too. She can lift up on her hands but not do push-ups like Oliver. She is better at sitting up because she is so solid and not so wiggly.
I had about 3 weeks of all my kids' sleeping before Abby decided she would roll to her stomach then wake up a 4am for a snack and because she was mad she was on her face! Before that Abby was always the one sleeping and Oliver would wake up. I guess they want to take turns waking up so I don't pick a favorite! They do usually take two good naps or three little naps at the same time now.

It seems like life is crazier now that they are awake and wanting more attention. Then I remember getting up to feed them every 3 hours for the first few months... Whatever age they are at seems to be the hardest but also the cutest! These 6 months have gone by so fast!

Time sure does fly by. It's hard to believe they are 6 months old, but I guess Lorraine's youngest had his one year birthday so time is zipping by. Love hearing how they are groiwing.
ReplyDeleteThey are growing so fast. I think Oliver is going to pass Bradford up soon. He was only 19 lbs 2 oz at his 1 year check-up.
ReplyDeleteThose are some cute babies! Oliver is a mover! Levi hasn't gotten his belly off the floor yet (although, you've seen his belly, so I guess that's not surprising!) Brielle was early with sitting up like that. That boy will keep you on your toes. :)
ReplyDeleteI love those little babies. They did so well on your Birthday for me!
ReplyDeleteWhat cute kids, love those smiles. Thanks for sharing. Love Grandma
