I think I was getting a little cocky.
I've never had to call poison control, I've never had a kid get into cleaner or medicine, I've never had to go to the emergency room... You get the idea. My kids aren't the kind who get into lots of things they shouldn't. Toys- yes, books- everywhere, clothes- all the time. But other stuff they really don't.
Sunday March 2nd
I was getting ready to go to the Gilbert Temple dedication broadcast. I had paid Olly for doing some extra chores. I usually pay a quarter but I was all out so I gave him some dimes. He then informed me that he swallowed one. Great. What do you do about that? I googled it. Apparently if it doesn't get stuck it should go right through. A penny is worse because of the types of metal in it. We decided to wait it out. I never did see that dime come out- but I wasn't going to put in too much effort looking for it. Hopefully they don't find it in there when he's old and has his appendix out or something.
Charlotte is at preschool and Abby had a bead necklace that broke. You can probably already guess where this story is going. I told them to pick up all the beads so Miles wouldn't eat one. Apparently we missed one because Abby told me she had one up her nose. It was right there at the bottom. I tried teaching her to blow it out. Are my kids the only ones that can't blow OUT? They always suck IN for some reason. I tried carefully pulling it out but it kept going higher. I decided it was better to leave it alone so it would be easier to get out. So my friend picked up Charlotte from preschool and the rest of us went to the Dr where they used their little tool to pull it out in 2 minutes. I kept the bead for her scrapbook.

| Waiting for the doctor to come in. She was clearly distraught. She actually was upset when it was time to take it out. A nurse and I held her arms and legs while the dr pulled it out. |

Maybe it's a boy thing as to why I've done ER and poison control multiple times...who knows? Abby just wants to be like me with the bead up the nose.
ReplyDeleteWho knows, but they are are cute , and don't worry if you every do have to call poison control; it is staffed by the nicest, most non judgemenatal ladies in the world. I was more worried about getting a lecture than my kid who had eaten desidin, but they were soooooo nice!
ReplyDeletefunny stuff! Glad everyone is safe. Not looking forward to baby proofing again.
