President's Day at Phoenix Zoo

I was hoping to go on a hike or to the zoo on President's day and I was lucky enough to do both!  That morning I met my book club friends Katie, Kelli, Sara, and Ruth and one new lady Gabby and we hiked Twisted Sister to another trail near the Salt River.  Nice hike just under 4 miles beautiful weather.

When my kids were little I had a zoo membership for years but now we just have a Pogo pass and can go 2x a year but we didn't make it happen for a year or more.  The only kid excited to go was Miles, the girls were pretty grumpy the first hour until our friends the Lyon's came with their 2 sweet kids and our friend Kaydence also.  The weather was beautiful and the zoo was the most packed I've seen it since free day!  We were there about 3 hours, the weather was so nice and they all had fun.  For some reason I'd never done the Arizona trail, we had fun seeing all the native species.

It brought me back to when my kids were little.  We had a great half a day.

  1. I like how, even though he has a mask on, you can tell that Miles is smiling. He's so cute.
