Apple of My Eye

#1 Brightened- her hair isn't naturally that red!

As soon as I bought this shirt I knew I wanted to take pictures of Charlotte with a bowl of apples in the fall. Matt taught me some new photo editing tricks. I'm not very good and I don't have an expensive program but I thought I'd put a few of them up and see what you think. Tell me which versions you like better.

#2 No color editing- just cropped

#3 Top-Black and white Bottom-Faded background, apples original color

#4 Sepia

#4 Faded

#4 Brightened

#5 Top-Background faded, apple brightened Bottom-Black and white

#6 Background black and white, apples brightened. They look pretty bright don't they...

Until you see how bright these apples are! I may have gone a little too far with the brightening on this one! I really like the contrast but they look a little too much like tennis balls now!

Not the greatest picture. But I love that she kisses windows and mirrors.

  2. Maybe the last one isn't the greatest, but it is super sweet and probably my favorite. All of your photo editing turned out great - isn't it fun!

  3. I like the first one. I am weird though and like photos that aren't always happy, so #4 is cute too.Good job on the editing!

  4. I like #4 brightened. Funny how you like the shirt and pictures of her eating them but you and Matt aren't big apple eaters.

  5. I like 3 & 4. With the b/w + color accents.

Lia: "I like the picture where she is trying to bite into the apple. How many teeth does she have? How can she bite into the apple?"

  6. They are all so sweet, but I especially love the #3 bottom one. I'd put that on my wall!

  7. Of course I love them all. It's Charlotte. Everyone is getting so fancy with photograpy these days. But, if I must choose I too like the #3 with the faded color and colorful apples. I'm glad you included kissing the window. Love Grandma

  8. Thanks for all of the input everyone! I'm always suprised by your votes... I am really in love with #1, #4, and #6.
Kori- I used to be a big apple eater until mom put apple sauce, apple juice, and an apple in my lunch almost everyday in high school. That cured me! But I still love the colors of apples and I'll eat them occassionally. I'll always eat apple pie!
Alyn- tell Lia that Charlotte has 6 teeth- 4 top 2 bottom she didn't really eat any apple, just left teeth marks. I love that you write what your kids say.

  9. Wow! What boring lunches. Maybe it was an apple diet. Sorry, Did I really do that?? I don't sound like a very creative, well rounded Mom when it comes to lunches. I wonder how many peanut butter and Jelly sandwhiches Alyn had in grade school before we got a cafeteria. I'm glad you still love me. Maybe that's why you became a teacher. to get more apples. Love Mom

  11. I have a confession Erin. Your blog is the last one in my bookmarks (W for Whitmers) so I rarely make it down to the bottom. Am I am bad friend or what? I love all the new posts and I want to do those fancy editing tricks. Cute pics of your girl.
