We Have A Winner!

Can I just tell you how much I loved all of your comments and ideas for blog posts! I am excited to have so many new ideas!

I finally discovered how to get lots of comments- give away free stuff! I will definitely do this again since so many people seemed interested.

The only downside is that I really wish I could send each of you something! If you just had a baby, or are having one in the near future, I just might try to make you something anyway because I'm so flattered so many people liked the things I made.
And finally the winner is....
Marjie Christian- Marjie was my caddy-corner neighbor in college. We had the same major and minor and we were the same year so we had a ton of classes together. She is fun, smart, and she makes me laugh. She also just had a cute baby girl of her own so I'm excited to have an excuse to make her something. Send me an e-mail with your choice Marjie and we'll get together and make more crafts so I can give it to you!

I couldn't just pick one winner, but I couldn't decide based on comments since there were so many good ones so I just chose another name out of the bag and I picked....

Nichole Christensen as the runner-up- Nichole was actually Marjie's roommate in college and she was in my ward! I think it's funny that both of these girls won- I swear it was totally random! Nichole is sweet and thoughtful. She is always a good listener. She has two little boys now (named Matthew and Aaron who was born on my husband Matt's birthday- she must really love us) and I can't wait to send you something for them. I think you'll choose a hooded towel based on your comment but e-mail me and let me know for sure!

As far as your other comments I will definitely try to post some tutorials on how to make some of these fun things.
-Here are the directions I used for the nursing cover- the only thing I changed was to not line it (one layer of fabric is good enough) and I would make the neck strap quite a bit (like a foot) shorter, it's WAY too long.
-Hooded Towel- this one is kind of like trying to teach someone origami in a tutorial. It's much easier in person. I could show everything up until the folding the hood stage. Maybe I'll have a girls craft night and if you want to learn how and live close you could come and make one. Here is a different way of doing it that looks pretty simple. The way I do it one hand towel makes 2 "hoods" and there isn't that pleat in the back... but like I said the folding part is tricky until you see it.
-Wipie case- I'll post a tutorial on this later since it's easy to show
-Bows- also tricky to show in a tutorial... I took the class at Ruffler's Ribbons and Lace store in Mesa and learned 3 different bow types. It's much easier to see this one too, sorry!
Thanks again for entering my 100th post giveaway! I loved it!

  3. Thanks for the sewing tips, Erin! I still haven't broken out my Christmas present sewing machine, but now I have even more reasons to do sew (get it? so/sew...haha...yeah I'm a nerd). I need another wipes case, and we'd like to add some more (larger) hooded towels to our rotation without spending a fortune.

  5. WOO HOO!!!! I'm so excited! You are definitely right to not line the nursing cover. The one I made a while ago is lined and it just doesn't work right. It's too thick! So I'm about to make another one. I just washed the material today! I'm excited for all your new posts that we'll start seeing soon I hope! Thanks, Erin! You've inspired me to do a 200th post giveaway. I think it will be soon!

  6. I WON? OH HAPPY DAY!!!!! by the way did anyone else notice that I look like a giant beast next to Erin? Hahah! I'm so excited! I think O would love a hooded towel too. You will have to teach me how to make the bows though. So happy, thanks!

  7. Marjie you do not look like a beast! You look tall, slender and beautiful... I'm just extra-short! Like an umpa lumpa- I"m sure the comparison will be more pronouced when I'm 9 months pregnant with twins. Hopefully not the orange skin and green hair though.
