4th of July Cousin Olympics

**Found these 2 July posts in my drafts folder- I was almost ready to post before I had Miles. 6+ months late is about on par around here lately.  I'll post now and back date them later.

My dad was so excited for the grandkids to come for 4th of July this year.  He planned some games.  I think he had a name for it but I can't remember it- dad or Kori or someone remember the name?  Each grandkid won at least one event- funny how that worked out!

Putting to the real golf hole courtesy of my big brother Jesse who is in charge of the grounds at the golf course in Cornville.  Everyone needs one in their yard right?   There was also a timed event to run out and circle the flag- Abby won for doing it so cutely if not for time.

Watermelon eating

There were quite a few more events- trampoline tricks etc.  Charlotte won the watermelon seed spitting contest hands down.  Maya was the runner up- the boys couldn't believe the girls were better spitters.  I am so proud!

Slip and slide was judged on style and tricks.

The awards ceremony with the master of ceremonies my dad with the clipboard.
I'm sure once they can all swim the fish pond will feature in the 4th of July games.   I think we need a Utah, California, and South Carolina delegation next year.  How about it siblings?

  1. I'd like to have some grown-up events also! Jesse, how much does a golf hole and flag cost? My new yard could use a golf hole...

  3. I'm in. I vote for a water planing event: run as fast you can in the irrigated orchard and see who can plane on their belly for the longest distance. I'm sure to win!!

  4. It was the "Fourth of July Follies." I would love to be in Cornville for half the summer if I can.
