First Day of School- Kindergarten and Preschool x2

My first kindergartner and first time for the twins to go to preschool!  They were so excited/nervous!  They started Aug 6th this year.

She's in the half-day class at Hermosa Vista.  I worried about the decision more than I should. Academically she's over the top ready but it's the last year I get a choice to have her home part of the day so I took it. Overall I'm really happy to have her home at 11:30.  She still naps a few times a week.  I feel like she kind of explodes when she walks in the door, lots of pent up emotion from school.  She's a social butterfly.  She seems determined to have me meet all of the other 12 kids in her class so she can have play dates with them.  So far we've had 4 of them over with 2 more in the works!  On a side note how awesome is it to have a class size of 13!  I wish it could be like that every year!

Abby seems to love preschool.  She rushes home to do her homework each day.  She has a melt-down if Olly shows me the art project first.  Twin problems.  I wish I had another year with them before they're old enough for kindergarten.  I feel cheated sending 2 more kids on the bus next year!

Love this face!  Olly likes preschool too but he is happy when he has a day off.  He doesn't enjoy doing the homework as much and waits until the morning to do it, but he loves candy days!  

Waiting for the bus!  She puts her bag by the door every night.  She pesters me all morning to get my stuff done so she won't be late.

Yes I got on the bus to take this picture.  There are only kindergartners on the bus and she was the first stop until they moved the stop across the street.

Preschool pick up.  We car pool with 2 other little boys so I only have to drive once a week.  Charlotte likes getting picked up that day, so I don't miss her bus.

And she's home!

She wanted to ride the bus the first day, and I wanted to start the routine early but I still drove to the school to see her and make sure she found her line etc.  The only problem was it was a total zoo and I had to park so far away and walk with all 3 of my little kids that I barely got to see her anyway.  Luckily some other sweet parent was there to meet the bus and make sure they got to the right place!

  For the first time in 4 years I have 3 mornings a week with just Miles.  I try to stay home and clean at least one of the days and then got to stores or make appointments the other days.  I can't believe how much I can get done with only 1 kid.  I also make phone calls without interruptions.   Miles handles his alone time well.  He often takes a nap for part of the time when we're home.  I felt like I would be in the little kids at home stage forever but suddenly I have 3 in school at least part of the time and the next 2 years will be even more time.  I'm a little sad, and a little excited!
