I am officially 30 as of January 17. I was surprised how monumental turning 30 felt. Most years since I got married have just slipped by quietly. The decade turner felt like more of a milestone. I had a bit of a pity party a week or so before trying to think of something to do, and thinking of all the things I might not get to in my life that still seemed possible at 20. But when the actual day came around it turned out to be the best birthday I've had in a long time. Here are some of the highlights of the day and of my 20s decade.
My parents came to town and let us have a date with my cousin Stefani and her husband Brett at Cheescake factory. I went shopping with my mom and Marti on my birthday. My mom made me a 4 layer delight. I had an unexpected gift of a cute AZ sign from a friend, and a call from each of my siblings. I also bought my self a new Pottery Barn bedspread since our quilts from our wedding are starting to wear out.
Things I did in my 20s

Traveled to 4 states (1 new one Hawaii!) 2x to Utah, 4x to California, 1x to Texas

Bought 3 different cars- age 20, age 25, age 28
Became a runner- age 26
I did a lot in my twenties. I am hoping it will be my least traveled decade, which is funny because I think for most people their twenties are their most traveled decade. I was pregnant or nursing for 6 years of my twenties though, that might have had something to do with it. Having 3 kids in 21 months made them hard too.
Me on my 20th birthday by one of the Page Springs, where I grew up.
With Matt on my birthday (I think I got mud on my shirt in true Erin fashion). We got engaged 1 week later. I love seeing my Grandma Beebe in the background.
If I find one of me as a 10 year old I'll put it in, funny to think of yourself 10 years later!
love the 20 vs. 30 photos. You're still so young! 40 is approaching for this old lady...
ReplyDeleteI love the picture of the house we grew up in and Grandma Beebe in the background too! You did a LOT in your 20s with the kids bullet points! So many hours went into those ones!
ReplyDeleteYou hardly look any different between 20 and 30!
