Oh there is only one Charlotte! She had a wonderful birthday this oldest child of ours!
We did an outing with a friend this year instead of parties. She chose Peter Piper Pizza on Labor Day with our sweet neighbor Lilly. They got her a dress for her doll that almost matches one Charlotte has.
She wanted a caramel chocolate cake. It seemed like a good excuse to get one of those fancy cakes from Costco. We went there that morning only to realize it's closed on Labor day. Fry's cake instead!
She still needs plenty of sleep! It's exhausting to be Charlotte!
On her birthday she wouldn't let me bring her lunch or bring in the treats to her class. I'm not going to lie, I was really sad she thought she was too old for me already! sniff sniff. She picked Paradise Bakery for dinner. We met daddy up there and he took the boys home after.
7 years ago we met this girl and I became a mom!
I took the girls to the American Girl store brand new in North Scottsdale! It was magical. I was living out one of my childhood dreams. Charlotte said she only wanted a "real American girl doll" for her birthday since I told her we usually only spend about $100 on birthdays. It was so fun to take her to pick one out. She read some of the books this summer to earn it as well. She wasn't sure which one she wanted so it took awhile. She also had $40 of birthday money. Notice their cute little wallets!
I really debated bringing Abby or not. She's going through a very hard I think it should be my turn first all the time phase. I thought it would be too hard for her to go and not get her own doll. She did awesome being patient with Charlotte and loved it too. I was proud of her. She wants these Bitty Baby twins and LOVED the double stroller too. She did get to pick out the doll brush I was planning to buy anyway.
And the winner was Kit Kittridge! I love that she looks like Charlotte (complete with freckles!) but is also a historical one with all her own books, accessories etc. She was so excited!
Tucking her in. Of course she wants to buy Kit's real bed now. She bought the hat, purse, and bracelet and Kit's dog Grace with her birthday money.
Reading the book right away.
Charlotte is a good sister and let Abby hold it. This is Abby's new bed and quilt.
Birthday crown from school.
Kit frequently eats meals with us. Her first morning we made doll sized crepes of course! Charlotte has taken such good care of her.
7 was a pretty great birthday for this girl! We LOVE our Charlotte girl!
Stats:
Weight: 46" 8oz 25th percentile
Height: 47 1/4 in 50th percentile
Pretty normal for our kids, average height and a little skinny.
She seems so grown up these days. She became an awesome swimmer this year, her reading continues to jump up quickly, she's still ultra punctual and a worrier but also a very conscientious student and overachiever. Her music is coming along well, I love listening to her play and sing. She is great at helping to get everyone out the door and clean up, she's awesome at chores. We are so lucky to have her!

I LOVE CHARLOTTE SO MUCH!!! What a sweet girl.
ReplyDeleteI knew the first comment was going to be from Aunt Marti. We love Charlotte too. What cute, cute pictures. Looks like a fun adventure. Thanks for sharing. If the bracelet is green I think it's here at our house. Let us know. Love Grandma & Grandad
ReplyDeleteCute photos! Happy 7th Charlotte! Do you know they have a "doll hospital" that you can send them into for repairs?
