First Family Camp Out Ever!

We did it!  We finally did it!  We went camping as a family (with our ward) for the first time... ever. September 25 and 26 north of Payson close to the Canyon Creek fish hatchery.  Here is the last time I went camping- the Diehl family camp-out in 2008, while I was pregnant with Charlotte. Only 4 kids ago.

I was the kid always begging to stay in a motel growing up because we camped ALL THE TIME.  While I did grow to like it more as I got older I was surprised how happy I was to be going camping.  Sometimes I feel like I've been living in a bubble since I had kids, 7 years ago.

Miles dragged his blanket through the dirt everywhere.  We're going to call him Linus.

HUGE tree to climb on.

Miles played in this stump for a long time.

Abby and Charlotte tried the cool swing.

Boys found a fort.  Olly with his friend Cyrus.

Miles friend Emma comparing belly buttons.  These two are so cute together.

Porter and Miles.

Visiting this hatchery brought back a lot of memories.  Page Springs doesn't seem isolated at all compared to the drive into this place.

Matt helped Olly catch a lizard right before we left.

Camping was surprisingly easier than anticipated. We also didn't really cook any food. The kids all slept great.  We do need more sleeping bags Matt and I were cold all night.  They went to bed and then we got to stay up and talk to adults around the camp fire.  I love the outdoors and I'm glad we did it, now I'm asking for camping stuff for Christmas hoping to do it more often now that we have "older" kids.

  1. I'm glad that they were good! Next time, if you still need it, I have a sleeping bag you can borrow too.
