Maybe not the last one. But honestly, Matt has been absolutely super hero-ish this week. This has been the best week of my life with Charlotte coming and Matt taking such good care of us. Anytime I would try to do something he would get upset and tell me that's why he's home. He's kept the house cleaner than I usually do and made better meals too! Maybe he should be the stay-at-home dad!

Daddy's already wrapped around her finger.
He is so good with Charlotte. He is better at comforting her than I am (not including nursing). He is a natural dad. I won't say he loves diapers but the fact that he is changing some is a big step for him. He is constantly wanting to hold her and talk to her. He tells her, "You're so cute." at least 20 times a day. It's so sweet to see this big man being so gentle with this little girl. Anytime she makes a noise he comes to check on her and asks, "Is she okay?" He's such a worrier, he keeps waking up at night to check on her when she's sleeping. It's made me love Matt even more than I already did. He was awesome as a labor coach as well. I couldn't have done it without him. He was so good at calming me down during every contraction and saying just the right thing.

Seriously sweet...just when you think you can't love your husband more....you see him as a dad and then you do.
ReplyDeletethat last picture is so precious! glad he is helping out so much!
ReplyDeleteI knew he would be a Super Dad. As a Mom (Grandma) it's a real treat to see my own children and their spouses as they become parents, to my most precious grandchildren. I must say that many times I am "awed" at how wonderful you all are at being parents already. I never knew that Jesse would be the fastest diaper changer I've ever seen. I'm sure each of you have parental talents that will continue to be a joy to behold. Of course, I will admit Dad and I can't help but smile sometimes when we remember those days and nights as young parents ourselves. Now we're enjoying learning to be grandparents. Thanks to all for giving us the blessing and opportunity. You and Matt will do great. Charlotte is a very choice little girl to be born of such goodly parents. Love Mom
ReplyDeleteI'll bet Matt could leap over a mean Lego skyscraper. Someday I'll teach Charlotte how to build one. This post could be converted into a ballad called "Ode to Matt" and you could make up a tune and sing the contents of it to him as he falls asleep amid a sea of pillows.
ReplyDeleteI was going to put in a request for more Charlotte pics.
ReplyDeleteWay to be a super hero Matt!
I also like the last picture, her hand doesn't even reach around his finger! Take more of hands!

Every woman deserves a husband like Matt. His momma sure did raise him right. All young engaged couples should have to read your blog before getting married.
