Put them together and what do you get?
A whole ton of craziness!
We went up to Grandma and Grandad Diehl's again for a few days to see my sister's family. All of the grand kids were there except for Eliza.
There was a lot of
laughing
crying
diaper changing
sliding on slip and slides (even by yours truly)
chasing
bath splashing
sand/grass eating
sippy cup stealing
swinging on swings
trying to put babies down for naps in shifts
trying to keep them from biting, hitting, poking each other
My parents are brave to have all those kids at their house at once.
My first time on a slip and slide since high school at least. It comes right back to you. I was covered in grass and a little sore the next day, but it sure was fun!
Alyn and her birthday brownies. To celebrate we went to see the new Harry Potter movie while the kids stayed home with the grandparents and a cousin to watch them.
Finding a frog (toad?) on the back porch is a BIG deal when you're little!
Here's one example of what it was like with that many little kids together. I put Charlotte in the tub for her bath. A few minutes later Maya (1.5) walks in and starts trying to climb in. So in she goes. Then in walks Charlie (1.5) who starts taking off his clothes. So in he goes. Then Cai (3) runs in and says, "Me too! Me too!" So in he goes. Luckily Grandma was pulling out the clean kids almost as fast as the dirty ones were jumping in! The water was pretty murky by the end! For some reason I didn't manage to get a picture of this...
Just looking at this picture makes me tired!
It was fun to see so many of the cousins together. Charlotte got a few more bumps and bruises than usual; but she was also much more entertained than usual too!

Looks like a great time was had by all. It is always fun to get everyone together. Loved all the pictures.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lot of family fun!
ReplyDeleteSuch cute family pictures. I was tired looking at that last picture too. I bet you've never been so happy to have one kid when you got home. You're parents rock for taking all those kids on at one time.
ReplyDeleteNow remember they were never completely alone, Erin and Kori were there the first day, then Alyn and Nathan came home and during Harry Potter Mollie and Matt were there. It was still crazy though and lots of fun.
ReplyDeleteWow, what an adventure. How fun though to have them all together like that! You have such a wonderful (and quickly growing) family Erin! Charlotte is one lucky girl to have all those cousins around!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the pictures Erin, it's great to remember all the fun. I can't wait to get a picture with Eliza too! XXX000 Grandma
ReplyDeleteHa, ha! I just read about Nathan and Alyn's trip to Winslow on a few different blogs (Nathan's sisters) - apparently this is the other side of the story. Fun, fun!
ReplyDeleteSounds like it was a lot of fun even if there was a lot of work with so many little ones.
ReplyDeleteI may have gone nuts with all those kids around, but I'm sure it was a ton of fun too! I think having a big family would be a blast.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a ball. I love all the real life enfused into your entry!
ReplyDeleteaaaaaaaawww! Looks like you guys had a ton of fun! I love having a ton of cousins around. I love the bath story!
ReplyDeleteCan I copy this post into my blog book 2009? : )
ReplyDeleteBy the time I finally blog about our trip to AZ, it'll be old news. I'll need to get a new angle...
Great Post!
Yeah, can I steal these pictures too?
ReplyDeleteI loved your pictures. It is nice that you could get together with your family.
ReplyDeleteAlyn and Kori- of course you can use my post/pictures. I should probably just give you copies of all the pictures Kori... since you didn't have your camera.
ReplyDeleteIt was the funnest craziness I've ever experienced! So fun! Loved the pictures!
