Here's our Christmas letter for anyone who didn't get one in the mail. If you'd like one in the mail- assuming I can keep it up in the future e-mail me your address and I'll put you on the list! I included a few random pictures since I never got around to making a Christmas movie.
Merry Christmas!
Matt-29 is starting his 6th year working for General Dynamics in Scottsdale. At work he earned an award for designing a mapping program and at home he designed an app for our new Windows 7 phones that tracks your car maintenance called “Car Bloke”. He’s done a ton more camping as assistant scout leader and a ton more grilling with our new BBQ. He also put in the deepest sand box ever in our backyard and he took me on a trip sans kids to Flagstaff for our 5th anniversary in May.
Erin-25 My work load increased exponentially this year. I spent the first trimester having sleepless nights thinking about twins, the second trimester cleaning, and the last trimester putting a permanent stomach imprint in our couch while on partial bed rest. At 37.5 weeks my over-stretched body decided it had had enough and after a quick delivery Oliver and Abigail were born on July 1st 4 minutes apart. In the 5 spare minutes when I’m not taking care of our three little humans I’ve been reading, blogging, working in the primary presidency at church and doing more sewing projects.
Charlotte-2 years old is spunky, sweet, smart, and sassy depending on the minute. Her vocabulary has taken off this year as well as her sense of humor and independence. She loves animals, books, movies, noodles, “building somet-ing” with her blocks, going anywhere, relatives, and the twins.
Oliver-5 months is a cute little man who loves to be held, tickled, and talked to. He’s super strong and wiggly and started rolling over early. He is tall for his age (he gets it from his mom) and he has grown from 5lbs 6oz at birth to 13lbs 1oz at 4 months.
Abigail- 5 months is way too good- so God sent her along as a twin. Abby is generally sweet-tempered and sleeps through the night. She loves to smile with a cute little nose crinkle. She had almost tripled her birth weight of 4lbs 1 oz by 4 months. Her double chin and leg rolls are probably my biggest accomplishment this year!
Highlights from this year included celebrating our 5th anniversary with a trip sans kids to Flagstaff, and the birth of Oliver and Abigail in July.
Matt-29, is starting his 6th year working for General Dynamics designing software for military contracts. We’re so grateful he has a job he enjoys so close to home that allows me to stay home. He earned the highest award G.D. offers for his work designing a mapping program the soldiers will use on their DROID phones in the field. At home he was excited to design an app for our new Windows 7 phones that tracks your MPG and car maintenance called “Car Bloke”. He put in the deepest sand box ever in our backyard-which Charlotte loves. He’s also been a huge help and taken over more work at home.
Erin-25 My work load increased exponentially this year when we found out we would be having twins shortly before last Christmas. I spent the first trimester not sleeping because I was trying to wrap my head around the idea of twins, the second trimester cleaning and shopping in preparation, and the last trimester putting a permanent stomach imprint in our couch while I spent the longest 6 weeks on partial bed rest. At 37.5 weeks my over-stretched body decided it had had enough. After a quick labor and delivery Oliver and Abigail were born on July 1st, 4 minutes apart. Carrying twins was way more than double the work of carrying one baby- but also more than doubly sweet and rewarding at the end. We can’t begin to thank everyone who has helped us though all of this. In the 5 spare minutes when I’m not growing or taking care of our three little humans I’ve enjoyed reading and doing more sewing crafts. I love going on outings with the kids.
Charlotte-2 years old , is spunky, sweet, smart, and sassy depending on the minute. Her vocabulary has taken off this year as well as her sense of humor and independence. She is so much fun! She has handled the adjustment of being a big sister really well considering she’s been upstaged but not just one-but two new siblings. She loves animals, books, movies, noodles, “building somet-ing” with her blocks, going anywhere, relatives, and the twins.
Oliver-5 months Our little Olly Jolly is a sweet little man who loves to be held, tickled, and talked to. He’s super strong and wiggly and started rolling over early. I’m scared we might have an early crawler. He’s grown from 5lbs 6oz at birth to 13lbs 1oz at 4 months. He’s long and skinny with big blue eyes, wispy blonde hair, and a cute pointed chin- basically he looks a lot like his papa. He still thinks he needs a snack and a snuggle at night but he’s starting to sleep through once in a while- which I’m grateful for.
Abigail- 5 months Happy Abby is way too good- so God sent her along as a twin. She’s getting a little more demanding in her old age but most of the time she’s content to play by herself and sleep through the night. She loves to smile with a cute little nose crinkle. She was see-your-reflection- in-her-head bald for quite a while but now has soft blonde peach fuzz. She has a round little face like Charlotte- but she might be my contribution to the gene pool because there is a slight resemblance! Probably my biggest accomplishment this year can be seen in Abigail’s double chin and leg rolls. She has grown from 4lbs 1oz at birth to almost triple that at 4 months.
They seem to like to watch each other and Charlotte and make lots of cute squeaks. They are rolling and starting to stay sitting-up for a few minutes. We’ve loved having twins- and can’t imagine it any other way now that they’re here.
