Probably in lots of ways but one way in particular this week. Charlotte has been begging all week to open every package that comes in the mail. I keep telling her she has to wait for Christmas. But when my Christmas/birthday/Valentines gift... for the rest of my life- came in the mail I could barely wait for Matt to get home much less Christmas.

Here's a sneak peek from my first burst of photos as I gleefully (no really I was literally giddy with excitement) chased my kids around the yard when it came in the mail. It's roughly 100,000,000 x better than our old one. Matt also got me a 500 page book on our specific model- I'm on chapter 3 and I've already tried way more features on this camera than I ever did on our old one. I'm excited to learn a new skill and I'll be growing into this camera for a long time (Matt says forever). So anyone who's interested I highly recommend our camera so far. Oh and if anyone has suggestions for future lens purchases that you love I'd appreciate it. I skipped getting the kit lens and just ordered the Canon 50mm 1.8 lens. I'm thinking maybe a 35mm next?
Using the sport mode to actually capture Charlotte's jumping action.
Gotta love warm AZ afternoons even in December.
Twirling
Portrait mode. The background blur makes me so happy. It apparently focuses on the subject and evens out skin tone- how cool is that!
He doesn't care if the swaddle blanket is pink as long as it's a swaddle blanket.
I'm still working on choosing the focus correctly- I think this one is more on his mouth instead of eyes but I still love it.
Cutest lips ever!
Abby is like this for me 95% of the time. Too bad she doesn't show other people this as often because she is a doll!
Fighting over a "real" toy car at a friends. Check out the new molars. All four at once for both kids. I need to learn how to Photoshop out booger noses!
For some reason the play cameras have been a hot item the last couple of days and suddenly all my kids know how to say , "Cheese!"
One happy momographer.

Cute! Fun camera!
ReplyDeleteLove it! I am so excited for you. Hauling the camera around at times can be rough but the photos are so worth it!
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! We have a Rebel too except ours is like 4 years old now. We love it! Happy days and memories for you! Your pictures look awesome by the way!
ReplyDeleteOOO I'm so jealous! Those photos are great!! I can't wait to see more :)
ReplyDeleteSO fun, isn't it?! I love the prime lens so much! If you get the 35mm, you have to let me know how you like it. The lens I want now costs more than the camera did, so I need suggestions at a lower price point :)
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are lovely already!
I'm happy that your happy you have a new camera. I'm really happy that you live a couple hundred yards from my house. Just let me know if I'm trying to monopolize your camera too much!
ReplyDeleteI am so excited for you! Now you are going to be able to get so many ridiculously awesome pictures of your kids. That one of Abby smiling is precious and I believe that is a look she gives mostly to her mama! ;)
ReplyDeleteI was the exact same way (giddy) when I got a camera that didn't have a 5 second delay and was heavy in my hands!!
Also, I like the lens choice. My personal preference/rule of thumb is keep the aperture as low as you can afford! Because I love me some blurry background too! And I like to be able to take pictures inside with no flash! I have the 35mm 1.8 and the 50mm 1.4. Love them both! Had a macro lens for about a week but it needed a lot of light and a tripod to actually get a focused picture. I don't even remember what it was but I loved the focal length, closer to 85mm.
Ok done writing you a book!
How exciting! I was too much of a wimp to go for the DSLR when we got our new camera last year. They scare me! But your first attempts are so good!
ReplyDeleteSOOOO exciting! I can't wait to get one myself!
