Pink Overload Baby Shower

Now that I've finally posted pictures of the baby herself I guess I should post of her baby shower!  I hosted this shower for my sister back in August (yes of last year)- I wrote the post a month later.  I had plans to make a fun slide show of all the pictures of the guests- but since that still hasn't happened I figured I'll just post what I have and back date it later.  Lame.

"My wedding colors are blush and bashful mama."  "Her weddin' colors are pink and pink."- name that movie

I had to throw my sister a PINK baby shower since it's her first girl after two boys- you have to go all out with the girlishness okay?  I had way too much fun planning this- let just say I didn't have a whole lot going on  last summer so I put way more time and energy into this shower!  It still took a miracle and a ton of help from Marti to get my house relatively clean.
Sadly I forgot to take a picture of the door- with tutu diaper wreath and gold frame come in sign.  I even replanted my flower pots and beds with pink flowers!  My mom joked I was going to paint my house pink since I lamented the decor clashing with my red wall.  I managed to keep the paint brushes put away- for some reason the Queen of Hearts "we're painting the roses red!" song just popped into my head- glad I didn't cross over that line.

Our sweet mother- pictured on the couch- and sister-in-law hauled this antique cradle 2 hours so I could use it to put the gifts in.  It was a huge hit!  I didn't get pictures of the gift opening either.  She got adorable clothes, a million bows/flower headbands, and some beautiful handmade gifts.
My first attempt at watermelon art- via this pinterest post.  They also did triangles along the edges but I figured this was enough.  So many people helped with the food I hardly did anything.

Can I just say how much these pictures from my old camera make me love my new camera?  Oh well.

 Cousins!
I'm sad I didn't get a better picture of the pink lemonade- I went a little crazy with lemon and lime slices, raspberries and mint leaves added.
Cassie and Keelie and the "it's a girl" banner- it took awhile and Charlotte helped by pretending to cut things up for Kori's baby shower for weeks ahead of time. Would also be cute to give as a gift to decorate the babies room.
Light and Fruity pie (thanks Candice!), I was really pleased with the limes and pink roses- just put the roses in a small plastic cup and put the lime slices wedged between the vase and cup and added water. By the way it's impossible to buy a pink table cloth- luckily one of my cousins used pink as her wedding colors!

Hershey's Candy bars wrapped in pink scrapbook paper.  It said something cheesy like,
"You're so sweet!  Every girl needs a little chocolate."
L to R sis-in-law Mindy, and sisters Kori, Marti (holding Charlotte), Erin and mom
Wish you could have been there Alyn and Emilee!

Man do I love to throw parties!  Heaven help me if I ever have a big house!

  3. SO cute! I love the lime centerpiece! That was one of the options for Julie's wedding (p.s. she told me to let you know she remembers you from Flagstaff :)) but I simplified by using uncut limes.

And I know what you mean by going overboard on the parties. It is just so much fun for creative expression.
