Petite Princess Party

I made myself look at Target (always cuter than Wal-Mart) for invitations before I fell in love with something on etsy or pinterst this time!   I was very happy with the cost and cuteness of these from Target- plus Charlotte got to help by adding the stickers- it did take awhile to get my text lined up just right on the inside.  I didn't really need invitations this time but it's my favorite part!

We had playschool at our house the day after Charlotte's birthday so we decided to call it her party and and just have a couple of friends this year.  I have to say it was so much less pressure.  One of her little friends was sick so it was only 3 girls plus Olly and Abby.  No parents, no lunch, no feeling of needing to impress or invite all 20 of her little friends.  Just easy kid games, some princess lessons, a little school work (p is for princess and such) since it was play school, and decorate some cupcakes.

Princess hats and wands I also found at Target- so much cuter and cheaper than the ones I was thinking of making off pinterest.

Cupcake decorating at it's best!

Notice the piles of sprinkles.

Our one little prince or king or whatever...

The mantel looked like a shrine for Charlotte- roses from daddy, princess books from grandma, her crown from preschool...

I got the idea for a much more elaborate cardboard castle here- but couldn't find enough boxes before the big day- the drawbridge is the main thing anyway right?  Just cut out the door and poke a hole in the box and thread through the ropes and you're done.  I held on the top tower with zip ties and added spare cardboard pieces for stones- I didn't have it in me to paint it too.  Just a warning that it's top heavy so you might want to stick some old college text books inside to prevent tipping!

Kiss the frog prince!  Put on lipstick spin around and see how close they come to his lips.

Stop the game with this starts happening!  I'm a little worried about Abby's definition of a kiss!

A magic mirror craft set- this girl is all about the coloring books and crafts right now!

We also played toss the crown on the throne which was a big hit- even with Oliver. We did some dancing for the ball of course.
Charlotte loves her friends and asks to have someone over on a daily basis now!
Happy 4th birthday Charlotte!

  2. The big parties are fun - but when they happen too often. I love the low-key party theme for most years. And you're right - when they are 4 it just doesn't take very much!

  5. That looks like it was the cutest party! We were so sad that Brielle couldn't go. That one of Abby licking the frog is hilarious.
