Back to School 2023

Back to School!
9th- Charlotte, 8th Oliver & Abigail, 5th Miles

First year in high school!  She was very nervous and a little excited.  We had some schedule problems (no 3rd hour, no science, no seminary, wrong orchestra...) They were able to fix all of them except seminary.  I messed up as a first time parent and didn't know to register her on the church site also and switch her from Westwood to Mt View but they didn't have any room in A hour.  She was not happy. After 5 phone calls and 2 stops by the building they said she could come as a visitor until they get a spot for her, hoping enough kids switch their schedule...  Not ideal.

8th Grade- Abby has a great group of friends- Olivia, Hadley, Stella, Katie, Lakshmi, Alyssa, and   Abby made a different bead bracelet color for each friend.  She is a pro at Mesa Academy this year- helped give the new kids tours for orientation.

Olly usually gets a good group of his friends in his classes.  He will be in Geometry this year.  He's very laid back about going back to school but when asked on a back-to-school form for allergies her wrote "homework" and what motivated him? He wrote "large piles of money"

5th Grade- he feels great not being the youngest of littles in the school.  He had 6th grade math on his schedule, we asked his teacher if it was a mistake.  She said there were enough 4th graders ready for 6th grade math so they made a whole class for them.  So Miles got separated from his friends- but not too bad that both boys have been bumped up math levels as some of the youngest kids in their grade.

We took a selfie when she started 4th grade so it became a tradition.  She's my kid who likes pictures taken the most.

Found a cicada skin- he always loves them.

The bus line up

Drop off for freshman orientation with our ward friend Rosie.  Since we're just out of boundaries we have to drive them.  Charlotte's first year ever not taking a bus, I love the bus.  They loved orientation and then went to a friend's house and soda shop after- felt so grown up!
