GIRL!
We had our ultrasound yesterday. Our baby is a girl! We honestly would have been happy either way boy or girl. I kind of knew if it was a girl I'd be just a little sad it wasn't a boy and vice verso. I really like both. I'm glad I didn't have to decide. I figure we got a girl and that's what we're supposed to have. I made everyone make guess before we went. I guessed girl. I've just been feeling like she's a girl the whole time. I'm a good guesser.
It was so fun to get to see her wiggling around in there. She is super active, even the ultra sound tech couldn't believe how much she was moving. They told me to drink a lot of water and eat something before I went so the baby would turn enough for them to get all the pictures. I might have overdone it a little because she was constantly turning. I've been able to feel her moving for about a week now and Matt could feel her a couple days after me which is unusual for someone to be able to feel from the outside so soon after I guess. She's a really good kicker. It seems more real to me that there is a person is there now that I can feel it and see it.
So everything looks really good and we got a clear between the legs shot so that's good too. They measured everything on her I feel like. I saw the chambers of her heart, her brain, leg measurements, tummy measurement, head measurements... I've seen inside of her more than inside of me!
I told finally my class yesterday as well so they could be excited for the ultrasound and it's been hard keeping it a secret now that all the teachers know and I'm starting to show. I had them solve this word scramble: smr rhewimt si ghianv a ybba! Most of them actually solved it pretty fast. For those of you still thinking it's Mrs Whitmer is having a baby! They were super super hyper all day. They all had to guess boy or girl and we made a chart of it (12 for girl 11 for boy). Then they guessed my due date (most of them just guessed their birthdays) and we made a bar graph. October was the highest month but 1 girl got pretty close Sept 21 I'm due on the 22nd. It was so fun- kids have way better reactions than adults. They can hardly contain their excitement. Two girls said they had already guessed because my tummy is poking out! I thought that was quite funny. I wondered if some of them had figured it out.
I have about a month left of school. I finish on the 28th. The kids are finishing up projects so hopefully we can get everything in. Matt is very happy as well. He wants to start calling her by the name we thought of. Sorry to the rest of you we want to make sure we're certain before we tell names to anyone else.
Here are the pictures of the graphs we did as a class.
