We are very excited if you couldn't tell by the all capital letters! I am due around September 22 so I'm a little over 3 months along. We wanted to wait to tell everyone until I finished the first trimester.
We told our families this last week. They are both very excited. All my sisters had already guessed and even had bets on due dates! This will be the first grandkid on Matt's side of the family. We got a picture frame with a saying about grandkids and wrapped it up with our ultrasound picture for his dad's birthday. His dad didn't look too thrilled at recieving a picture frame until he handed it to Matt's mom and she started screaming. Granted the baby just looks like a blurry blob in the ultra sound right now- I was only at 7 weeks when they took it.
We'll be married 3 years in May. It's been fun to have this time to have it be just us and we were both able to finish our undergraduate degrees and work and save for a house. It's been a really good experience to teach for these two years. I'm planning to finish up the school year and then not come back for next year. I'm nervous to tell my work. I just can't imagine leaving my kid with someone when I can afford to stay home with them. I really appreciate that Matt worked so hard to get a job that pays well so that I can do that. We've worked really hard the whole time we've been married to live off of Matt's salary and just save mine for our house. It will be sad to not have all those savings but a baby is worth it. I will miss a lot of things about teaching though...I love feeling like I make a difference to so many kids everyday ( at least I hope I do). Now I'll just be working on our own kid but in a lot of ways that is even more important. My job as a teacher would be a lot easier if more parents would do their job better.
So I'll send a picture of my tummy when there is more to see. I have a very slight pooch- more than I've ever had before, I've gained a whopping 5 pounds which is right where I should be right now. I might hit the triple digits in a few weeks! So I will have a very long summer getting ready for the baby. I'm looking forward to lots of house, and scrapbook projects I've been neglecting and reading lots of good books. Oh how I miss reading all the time. Childhood was so great for that. I'm glad I took advantage of it when I had the time.
So life is good. Hopefully I survive this last quarter of the school year. I was so tired these last three months it was hard to have the energy to teach. Luckily I've hardly been sick at all. The only thing that makes me nauseous is the smells of some food, riding (not driving) in the car and brushing my teeth because I gag. I've been really lucky though.
That's a fancy digital pregnancy test! That is nice that your husband has a good paying job. Not all husbands choose a field that pays well!
