The 3 Little Bears
Remember the Princess and the Pea from last year? We continued the fairytale theme this year because I found this super soft and cute costume super cheap after Halloween last year for Charlotte. Despite having a whole year to think about it I was still finishing the ears for our mama and papa costumes the day of the party. It's all about having a deadline I tell you.
Check out that bear bottom! So cute! Lots of padding too for all that falling!
While they were gone a little girl named Goldilocks (we'll have to do this again when we have someone to play Goldilocks) broke into their house and tasted all their porridge. Papa Bear's was too hot, Mama Bear's was too cold but Baby Bear's porridge was just right so she ate it all up. Then she decided to sit in their chairs. Papa Bear's chair was too big, Mama Bear's chair was too small but Baby Bear's chair was just right so Goldilocks sat in it and broke it. You get the idea...
Mama Bear and Papa Bear's costumes were pretty low key- which is how we like it. I tried to get Matt to wear signs that said, "Too hot" on his back, "Too cold" on mine, and "Just right" on Charlotte but he didn't go for it. Even though I said he could be "too hot."
"Some one's been sitting in my chair."

This was the busiest Halloween weekend I can remember:
-Matt gone on a Scout Camp out from Friday afternoon to Saturday afternoon.
-Pumpkin carving at my sister's Friday night
- Saturday morning Halloween birthday party for Charlotte's friend Easton. It was a great party but I didn't take any pictures because I was too busy keeping track of Charlotte.
-As soon as we got back we had to hurry to get ready for the trunk-or-treat at church. Charlotte had a ball running around the church parking lot. She got a lot of use out of her costume this year by wearing it to 4 different Halloween events.
Charlotte was perfectly content to just throw the candy around until daddy gave her a taste of a Starburst. Now she brings candy up to you and giggles in anticipation while you open it. Don't worry we only gave her a small taste but she is hooked! She tried to make a break for it every time the doorbell would ring! I can't believe what a difference a year makes. We get to try everything for the second time with Charlotte now.
I'm thinking we should just save the ears I made and we can be the 3 blind mice next year. You know, break into the nursery rhyme genre- because it's so different than the fairytale theme!
A very cute bear family. Looks like you all had fun!
ReplyDeletesoooo cute! I love that you all dressed up together again! She makes the best teddy bear and I love that you got it on sale!
ReplyDeleteVery cute! I love that you and Matt had bear ears too!
ReplyDeleteI love her bottom!! That is so cute. :) My sister did Goldilocks when she had three kids - the oldest was a girl so she was Goldilocks, the middle boy was baby bear (obviously my sis & broinlaw were mama and papa), and her baby (who had to have been just a few weeks old) was a bowl of porridge. She made the funniest costume for him! I'm loving this look for you guys, so I definitely am rooting for a repeat!
ReplyDeleteI still can't believe that Spencer was eating some chili! That picture verifies it because it's all over his face. Thanks for doing the Primary cupboards with me even though it was stressful.
ReplyDeleteLove all your costumes. Sounds like you had lots of nice Halloween events.
ReplyDeleteI've been waiting to see the Bear family. Thanks for sharing. I love it. Grandma D
ReplyDeleteI may have to start calling Matt "Papa Bear." Especially with that beard. He makes me feel like Mowgli: short and comparatively hairless. d^_^b
ReplyDeleteJust tell everyone you ate Goldilocks before you took the pictures. It was a home invasion and you feared for your lives.
Great pictures. d^_^b
Cute Hat, Matt.
ReplyDeleteIt may be YEARS before Charlotte grows out her GOLDY-LOCKS! : 0
