28 Words for 28 Years

Today Matt becomes a 28 year-old.

In honor of the occasion I came up with 28 words to describe Matt. If you want to add some words or memories of Matt in the comments I'm sure he'd appreciate it.

In no particular order:

1. Mischievous- Eating every one's Halloween candy off the top of the fridge as a little kid was where it all started

2. Intelligent- he's taken about a million of those upper-level calculus and physics classes that make most of us normal people get a headache just thinking about, he's a computer engineer designing equipment for the military for goodness sakes, he has to teach himself how to do things for work all the time (like entire computer languages or programs), he graduated Summa Cum Laude just after he turned 24 even after serving a 2 year mission. This is one of the things I really liked about him when we met.

3. Tall- 6'6" same height as Michael Jordan

4. Blond

5. and Handsome

6. Romantic- remember this

The "Italian Date" Dec 2004- about to go on the gondola ride. A month before we got engaged.

7. Hard worker

8. Computer genius/lover/aficionado- for some reason I've never had a computer problem since we got married. Charlotte always toddles down to the office to find daddy at his computer.

9. Handy- he looks up how to do everything on the Internet and then does it. He's really getting good at fixing things. He does most of our car repairs with the help of his dad. Even major stuff like fixing the A/C.

10. Scruffy (at the moment but I surprisingly think he looks good with a beard... for a while)

11. Easy going- most of the time Matt is a really easy person. I really needed this in a spouse- I don't do well with tempers.

12. Determined- When he sets his mind to something he sticks to it.

13. Opinionated- I hear a lot of wives have carte blanche when it comes to things like house decor, choosing clothes for their husbands, etc. This is not Matt- it took us 6 months to pick out our couch and we still can't decide on what to put above the mantel. Matt usually has an opinion on things and so do I. Most of the time I like that he has an opinion- it makes for interesting conversations.

15. Spur-of-the-moment- I'm the planner, he likes to decide at the last minute

16. SUPER DAD- I don't think any baby has a dad that tells her she is "so cute" as much as Matt tells Charlotte. Her first 2 words together were "Hi Daddy!" always said with excitement. It's pretty cute when she pretends to call him on the phone and says it or when he gets in the car or she is snuggling in bed with us and she looks over and says, "Hi Daddy!" like nothing is more exciting than having daddy there.

19. Brother/in-law- It's nice that my siblings seem to like Matt. They can be a tough crowd to please.

20. Generous- whether it's giving me the extra piece of pie or helping with the scouts every week Matt is great about sharing what he has.

26. Worrier

27. Frugal- this was a must for someone I married. They say money is one of the biggest things couples fight about. Matt and I have never had a fight about money because we agree so well.
