Shabby Apple... cute dresses no layering required!

I've had a major case of blogger block. I have 3 posts written but none of them seem good enough to publish. My life is not eventful.

However, I am inspired by the latest Grosgrain giveaway. I had to do a post to enter to win this-

Can't you just picture this dress on me? Okay, maybe not. But I am blissfully imagining my face in that picture! I love it!

How many of you are tired of layers! You know what I mean... a cami or tank top under a shirt or dress to make the neckline manageable, a sweater over to make up for the lack of sleeves, and then you still have to take out the hem or sew up the slit to make it long enough. I think layers look cute but during an Arizona summer one more layer is the last thing I want. So when Grosgrain featured "Shabby Apple" (cute name huh?), a company that designed REALLY CUTE dresses that didn't need to be layered I was excited. They are still pretty pricey so I'm hoping I win this one... If not I might have to save up my clothing budget and splurge. I looked at their whole site and this "Marseilles" dress, "Some Like it Hot", and "Antiquated" were my three favorites. So I was super excited when this one was featured for the giveaway.

I love that each dress has a distinct character (and name!) to it. Some are classic, some retro, some modern. They're all cute it just depends on your style. They even have a feature where you do a figure profile and they tell you which dresses will flatter your shape best. You guessed it... this dress was one of the ones featured for the "pencil" figure (a.k.a. no curves... you know like a boy. I should have lived in the 1920s when that was in.) I'm all about supporting a company that makes cute and modest dresses. They also have a baby and maternity line. Can you believe every single dress has sleeves without being the least bit frumpy? If that's not a fashion miracle I don't know what is.

If anyone wants to know what to get me for Christmas I'll take one of these dresses please!

Here's the link to the Shabby Apple Marseilles Dress Giveaway . Cross your fingers that I win.

  1. I know it's late. Or maybe it's just me. I can't see the picture of the dress. I'm trying real hard to use my imagination. Love Mom

  2. Okay, now you know my relationship with technology. When I posted my previous comment and went back (the picture of the dress had appeared) so, it made a liar out of me. I do like the dress very much. Love Mom

  3. I love shabby apple! And, yes I hate layers...especially in the summer- hence my summer uniform is my Nike athletic shorts and t-shirts. Sexy, no?

  4. Good luck with the contest. I hate shopping for dresses because there are no modest ones to find or they look like grandma dresses.

  5. Ha, ha! Sam and I were just talking about what a pain layers are in the summer! I mean, by the time you count garments, bra, undershirt, and shirt, you've got FOUR layers on your upper body. NOT comfortable in 100* plus weather. When we're rich, I'm going shopping for a long, long time to find lots of clothes that are modest all by themselves. :)

ps. You would look super cute in that dress. You just need to get a fun outfit for your hubby and your babe so that you can get awesome family pictures done in it!
