Happy Belated Birthday Whitmer Matters!

You're 1!

What a bad blogger I am. I missed my blog launch birthday. It was May 31st. Better late than never. I remember waiting to start my blog until I finished teaching last year. I was starting to be big and pregnant, going to water aerobics, and super cleaning my house.

Matt informed me that I was definitely a blog geek for doing a blog birthday post. I assured him that I KNEW I was a blog geek! I just love blogging- writing them, reading them, and checking for comments!

Thank you to everyone who visits "Whitmer Matters" especially those who visit and comment. You really have enriched my life this last year. I've loved getting to stretch my writing muscles again and being able to stay in touch with family and friends more easily.

Tips on How to Not Spend Forever Blogging...
I got most of these stats from Google Analytics . I didn't subscribe until August so they are off by a few months, but not by much. If you haven't used Google Analytics you should try it. It's amazing what you can find out about who's visiting your blog, even the ones that never comment **hint hint It's kind of like blog stalking someone back but without nearly as many details. I also recommend using Google Reader to keep track of which blogs update. This save me TONS of time checking each blog. I also have the comments e-mailed to me now to save time checking every 2 minutes!

*** Warning! I love statistics so this might be a number overload for most of you. Just read what you want. I understand this is not the most exciting post.

Okay, what a fun idea! I love that you have all the details on comments and popular posts. I have used Site Meter for the last 18 months or so, and they don't give you details like that. Sad! (Or maybe they do, and I'm just not very fluent with how it works. That's definitely a possibility!) Well, I'm glad we've become blog friends. You've help rid me of my bitterness against short girls who marry tall boys, leaving short boys for us tall girls. ;) [<- that's a wink]

That was fun!!! Thanks for sharing all the stats. I may be slow, but I'm persistent. Remember the tortise won, not the hare. I can't pick a favorite blog entry, I love them all. That's really neat. Yep! I contribute from Dallas but come August you will have some San Antonio on there. I use SiteMeter on my blog. Maybe I will look into Google Analytics, it seems like a better stat counter.

I have to admit I almost missed this post because of the more recent one. Yes! I made silver! I'm so proud. :) You always have great posts on your blog. Charlotte is getting so big and so cute! I can't believe how quickly they grow up. And don't worry about the jumping thinning her out too much--she's only a pound and a half behind Brielle (who is 6 months older!)

4/25/2014 While Olly was gone on a camp-out with Matt, "I can't sleep without Olly next to me and I was gonna play with him but he left." Sometimes I wonder if they do anything but fight lately, so it's nice to hear Abby misses Olly when he's gone.
3/2014 Driving up to my parents house I point out the neighbor's horses Olly says, "They're beautiful!" Abby in a very matter of fact tone quickly replies, "Better than a donkey."

Miles Says

4/21/2019 On a ward camp out where it was really cold the very first thing in the morning Miles grumbles, "I slept horrible!" Aftter he climbs in the parent's sleeping bag, "It smells like bad breath in here and... butt cracks!" We were dying!
2/27/2017 Not wanting to go to sunbeams, "I not free (three) I a baby!" Not wanting to sit in a car seat, "I not free I five!" Wanting to go to the auntie sleepover with the big kids, "I not free I five or seven." and "I sad at you" with big crocodile tears.
8/2016 Covered in mud he proudly declares, "Look how dirty I are!"
5/2016 During Gabe's very quiet high school graduation he yelled, "I need a bandaid on my eye ball." He bumped his eye on the edge of a paper I believe poor kid. Darrell and Rachel were cracking up.

2/2016 After sitting on his froggy potty looking at mom's phone for too long he finally got up and said, "My foot feel fluffy." Loved the description of a foot falling asleep from a 2-year-old!
